The sciency bit: How can journaling help us?
Journaling works with the creative part of out brain which offers us a gateway to working safely within our subconscious. The subconscious part of your brain holds the key to your success. It is the control centre which activates and charges the fear network which can often hold us back! Working creatively allows us to safely navigate and explore our emotions and fears without hitting the alarm or trip switch which activates our flight or fight!
I look at my journal as a golden key. This key allows me a sneak peak into understanding all of my feelings and emotions. It is a non-judgmental space which offers a safe place to share what ever is on my mind at the time. Starting a journal practice can really boost confidence in setting goals and clarify what you want to achieve in 2017.
