Arguably one of the most difficult times in our lives!

As a teen we are learning to navigate a confusing world of social norms, social media, our own self perception, where we fit in, what we want from life, who we want to be and how to survive while having fun!

Counselling and Coaching can help to cope with anxiety, boost self-esteem, clear out old belief patterns, to learn new ways of thinking, to make sense of friendships and relationships, to prepare for exams, to make life choices and to support health & wellbeing. I offer a confidential and space for exploring emotions.

CBT & COUNSELLING

Exploring trauma, negative self-belief, low self-esteem, anxiety, low moods and relationships using a range of talking therapies and models. The sessions start with getting to know each other, making goals for how you want to feel at the end of therapy and agreeing a way forward. The most important factor we focus on in sessions is the therapy relationship between myself and the young person. I offer a non-judgmental space, offering empathy and exploring in an open, honest and curious way.

There is no set number of session, however counselling works more effectively when offered on a weekly basis.

COACHING

Coaching takes on a more direct approach. As a coach, I am able to offer a minimum of five sessions, preferably on a weekly basis, where we explore a particular current life event. Coaching works well for stress around exams, a current relationship dilemma, questions around career and subject choices and short term anxiety work. This is a 5 step model which walks young people through developing the skills and resilience to self manage issues that arise. When we first meet, we explore goals and current skills which help. We then create a unique 5 step plan for the young person to enable a flow in sessions to work towards celebrating achievements and new skills. This is a great tool for MOTIVATION.

TEEN CONFIDENCE COURSES

This Teen Confidence Course has been developed using a combination of CBT, creative tools & Mindfulness techniques. This course will run for 6 weeks and offers young people aged 11-15 the space to explore their emotions, learn new tools for coping with anxiety and develop greater confidence and self-esteem. We explore issues around social media, relationships, the way we look, how people treat us, what’s really important in life, school grades and career choices and more! This will be a fun course enabling us to build new friendships, social connections and cover key topics including:

  • Anxiety & Anger
  • Low moods
  • Peer pressure
  • Perfectionism
  • Self-esteem
  • Labels
  • Kindness
  • Healthy relationships
  • Standing up for what we believe in

Combining CBT with Mindfulness and creative tools offers us a huge amount of skills to draw from for this course.
